Sillimanite Brick

Sillimanite bricks are made of sillimanite minerals by high-temperature firing. Sillimanite is calcined at high temperatures and converted into mullite and free silica. It has the characteristics of high refractoriness, high thermal shock stability, low thermal expansion rate, corrosion resistance of metallurgical slag and various glass liquids and good high temperature wear resistance. The refractoriness is 1770~1830℃, and the refractoriness under load is 1500~1650℃. It’s mainly used in glass furnaces, blast furnace linings, furnace throats, and ceramic kiln.


Because of its high thermal shock stability, resistance to erosion of molten glass, and less pollution to molten glass, the sillimanite brick is mostly suitable for feeding channels, feeders, pipe-drawing machines and other equipment in the glass industry, which can significantly improve productivity. Products include channel bricks, forehearth bricks, rotating pipes, spouts, orifice rings, stirrers, plungers, tubes, fire-stop slag bricks, damper bricks, front arch bricks, rear arch bricks, spout covers, burner blocks, beams, and cover bricks. In the float glass industry, it is mainly used in the tin bath roof tiles of the float glass production line.
