silica brick for coke oven is made of quartz stone materials, the content of SiO2 is ≥ 94.5%. Modern coke oven is a large heat equipment made of thousands type of refractory and ten thousand tons of refractory materials.


Refractory silica bricks are the main materials of coke oven. Use silica bricks to build coke oven’s basic parts such as regenerative chamber, chute, combustor, coking chamber, furnace top and so on, which account the 60~70% of the total refractory bricks for building coke oven.

The service period of a coke oven is about 20~30, of some can reach 45a. The quality of silica bricks coke oven is one of the factor that affect the service period of coke oven. With the enlargement of coke oven, the temperature in the main burning area has been rising, which requires higher quality refractory silica bricks for coke oven.

Adopting high quality raw materials and advanced technology, the silica bricks used for coke ovens construction achieve the advantages of high purity, long service life, good thermal conductivity, high refractoriness under load, and good creep resistance.

High refractoriness under load
Silica brick for coke oven can bear the live load of charging car on the furnace top and keep its shape without changing in the high temperature.

High thermal conductivity
As the coke is heated by conduction of wall of combustor with coking coal in the coking chamber, the refractory silica bricks for coke oven should have higher thermal conductivity. During the temperature range of coke oven combustor, refractory silica bricks have higher thermal conductivity than fire clay bricks and high alumina bricks.
The dense silica brick for coke oven can improve 10~20% thermal conductivity compared with common silica brick coke oven.

Good thermal shock in the high temperature
As the periodic coaling and coke discharging of coke oven, which results the rapid temperature change of refractory silica bricks in the two sides of heating wall. The normal operational temperature change will not result the serious cracks and spalling of silica bricks. Refractory silica bricks for coke oven have a good thermal conductivity when service in the temperature over 600℃.

High temperature bulk stability
There is lower 1% remaining quartz in the silica bricks that have good crystal type transform. When operating coke oven normally, the brickwork can keep bulk stability and tightness.
